Meet the Experts
Carmen Edwards BSc., FNP, Owner & Founder Skin RNI
The number of people suffering from skin disease conditions including eczema, rosacea, acne and skin cancer is staggering. Twenty percent of Canadians live with acne, two million Canadians have rosacea and over eighty thousand Canadians are diagnosed with skin cancer every year. Unfortunately, there is a great deal of misunderstanding about treating skin disease and achieving skin health. People are often misled in favour of quick fixes which yield frequent recurrences skin inflammation and ultimately treatment failure and disappointment.

Our society puts a lot of focus on the importance of skin beauty but we forget that our skin is actually also an organ and its the only organ in our body we can see. As a Scientist, I understand how important it is to use scientifically backed principals and ingredients when it comes to what we put on our skin.
After graduating from the University of Guelph with a degree in Science, specializing in human nutrition, and along with many years of experience working in a medical setting with physicians who utilize a functional approach to treating disease and restoring health, I have seen over and over again how changes in the diet can dramatically affect skin health. It is simply remarkable to see how within as little as a few weeks, increasing the intake of essential nutrients can affect skin hydration, texture and overall skin quality.
When it comes to health and your skin I have devoted my career to studying and researching this amazing organ and in my journey have learned a lot, seen a lot, experienced a lot, and my promise is to share with you how you can ultimately overcome any skin condition and truly have beautiful skin at any age.
“Repairing and rejuvenating your skin is a journey, and you need a skin expert to help you navigate. I will take away the guesswork, give you all the guidance and encouragement and be your partner throughout the process to make real changes to your skin. You truly can repair and regenerate your skin. Be good to your skin, you will wear it everyday for the rest of your life!”

It All Starts with Knowledge
The goal for healthy skin is a lifetime of healthy skin. We therefore want to remedy the skin disease and skin concerns by treating the skin in its entirety rather than just “the concerning spot on the face”. The approach must be to find the core of the problem and then the skin must be holistically restored with the focus being on overall skin health.
To create beauty we need to have skin health and to create skin health as with all things in our body we need a multifaceted-approach including what we apply to our skin, what we feed our skin nutritionally and how we protect our skin from environmental factors, and these principals need to be backed by science.
Our goal is to help you understand where your skin concerns and condition is coming from. This knowledge is a key factor in helping you make the changes necessary in your daily life to rejuvenate your skin and allow you to remedy the skin concern for life.
